Payload CMS Hosting
your code, your config, our containers
Payload lives in your codebase — collections, fields and access control defined in TypeScript, admin UI generated from them. Push your repo to G7Cloud and it runs on a dedicated container with a PostgreSQL 15 instance beside it.
Fixed GBP pricing · no usage billing · 30-day money-back guarantee.
Git push to deploy
How Payload runs on G7Cloud
Payload is code-first, so it deploys the way code should: from your git repository, onto a long-running container — not a pile of serverless functions fighting cold starts.
Connect your repository
Link your Payload project from GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. Pick Node 18, 20 or 22, set your build command and environment variables in the dashboard.
Push to deploy
Every push to your production branch builds with live logs and goes live on your dedicated container. Redeploy any previous commit to roll back.
PostgreSQL 15, provisioned beside your app
A dedicated PostgreSQL 15 instance runs alongside your container — set DATABASE_URL and Payload’s Postgres adapter takes it from there. Your data never lives on someone else’s shared cluster.
One container, whole app
With Payload 3 inside Next.js, your CMS, API and front end ship as one repo to one container. Add cron jobs, deploy webhooks and an in-browser terminal; PR previews on Pro.
What sits around your Payload container
Dedicated PostgreSQL 15
Your own PostgreSQL 15 instance, not a shared cluster — the natural fit for Payload’s Postgres adapter. Managed Redis 7 is available as an add-on too.
ScaleShield + free TLS
WAF and bot protection in front of every request, with free automatic TLS certificates — wildcards included.
Backups that provably restore
Daily, weekly or monthly schedules plus manual backups — and every backup is restore-tested nightly in a real sandbox, so you find out it works before you need it.
Per-minute monitoring
Uptime checks every minute with email, webhook and Slack alerts, resource metrics with 90-day retention, and TLS expiry alerts.
Why Payload here
Payload at its best, minus the server admin
Everything below is live on the platform today — no roadmap promises.
Config as code
Collections, fields, hooks and access control are TypeScript in your repo — reviewed in pull requests and versioned in git like the rest of your application.
Runs inside Next.js
Payload 3 installs into your Next.js app, so the admin panel, the API and your front end are one deployable. One repo, one container, one bill.
Push to deploy
GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket; live build logs; rollback via redeploy; deploy webhooks to Slack or Discord; PR preview environments on Pro.
PostgreSQL 15, dedicated
A proper long-running database next to a proper long-running server — no connection-pooling gymnastics, no serverless database surcharges.
Auth and access control built in
Payload ships authentication and field-level access control in the framework. G7Cloud adds team roles, 2FA and audit logging at the platform level.
ScaleShield + free TLS
WAF and bot protection in front of your admin and API routes, with free automatic TLS including wildcard certificates.

FAQ
Payload hosting questions, answered straight
How do Payload deploys work?
Connect your git repository (GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket) and every push to your production branch builds and deploys to your dedicated container, with live build logs. Roll back by redeploying any previous commit. On Pro, each pull request gets its own preview environment.
What database does Payload get?
A dedicated PostgreSQL 15 instance provisioned alongside your container. Point Payload’s Postgres adapter at it via DATABASE_URL and you are running. It is your instance — one database per site, never shared.
Can my front end and CMS share one deployment?
Yes — that is Payload 3’s whole design: it installs into your Next.js app, so admin, API and front end deploy as one repo to one container. If you prefer a separate front end, the Business plan’s three hosted sites cover both.
How does this compare with hosting Payload on Vercel?
Vercel Pro is $20 per user per month plus usage charges as of July 2026, and serverless deployments still need a database hosted somewhere else. G7Cloud runs Payload on a long-running container with PostgreSQL 15 beside it for a flat £19/month — no per-user pricing, no usage bills, database included.
Which Node versions are supported?
Node 18, 20 and 22. You choose the version per app, along with build command, install command and environment variables.
Is there help moving an existing Payload project?
Yes — free assisted migration on every paid plan. We move the code, database and media with you, you preview the result, and you approve the cutover before DNS changes.
Building a bigger stack?
Payload is one of five self-hostable content and commerce platforms we run — alongside 14 git-deployable frameworks.
