What does Medusa need to run, and do you provide it?
Medusa needs a long-running Node.js server, PostgreSQL and Redis. G7Cloud provides all three: your app runs on a dedicated container (Node 18, 20 or 22) with dedicated PostgreSQL 15 and Redis 7 instances provisioned beside it. You connect them with two environment variables.
Do you take transaction fees?
No. Payments flow through your own provider accounts (Stripe and others, via Medusa’s payment modules), and your G7Cloud bill is a fixed monthly price. Compare that with Shopify Basic at £25/month plus transaction fees, as of July 2026.
Can I run my storefront on the same plan?
Yes. Business (£19/mo) includes three hosted sites — typically the Medusa backend plus a Next.js storefront, with a slot spare. Pro (£39/mo) gives you ten sites, PR preview environments and WireGuard private networking between backend and storefront.
How do deploys and rollbacks work?
Push to your production branch and the build runs with live logs, then deploys to your container. Something wrong? Redeploy any previous commit to roll back. Deploy webhooks can notify Slack, Discord or any URL.
Is Medusa right for me, or is it overkill?
